LACC Men's 9-Hole Golf Club

Welcome to the Lake Almanor Country Club Men's 9-Hole Golf Club website.  We play 9 holes of golf weekly during the summer months on LACC's beautiful and challenging 9 hole golf course located in the Mt. Lassen area of Northern California.  After difficult 2020 and 2021 seasons living with the caronvirus and evacuations from the Dixie fire, we are looking forward to some great golf in 2022 and hope you will consider playing with us if you are a member of LACC.

Who are we?

We are a group of golfers who love to play golf in a relaxed, low stress environment.  Some of us are high handicappers and some of us are pretty good.  But all of us love our golf and strive to make the Men's 9-Hole club a fun group to play with.

Why Join?

If you like to play golf but are having trouble finding someone to play with, join our club and get great playing partners and a regular tee time.  In August, members and their guests can play in our annual scramble tournament.

Who can join?

Regular membership is open to LACC members in good standing.  Associate membership is open to non-LACC members who are sponsored by a regular member and voted on by the membership.

How do I join?

Fill out the membership form and send it along with a check payable to "LACC Men's 9-hole Golf Club" to:

Bob Lambert

55 Rollingwood Dr.

San Rafael, CA  94901

Note:  Before you mail, consider calling 415-517-4660 to confirm the address.

When do we play?

We play nine holes on Thursday morning each week from May through September on LACC's challenging 9 hole golf course.

Can I join both the LACC Men's 18 hole and 9 hole clubs?

Yes, but you will have to pay membership dues to both groups.  As the 18 hole group requires you to maintain a handicap, you will have to join the NCGA but you can join the NGCA through the Men's 9-hole club and your NCGA membership will be valid in both clubs.  If you want to join both clubs and belong to NCGA too, you won't have to pay NCGA dues twice.

How do I sign up?

The weekly signup sheet is located at the back of the LACC club house near the pro shop.  Members wishing to play should sign up no later than Tuesday morning of each week. Weekly pairings are prepared and emailed to members no later than Wednesday morning and are also posted outside the pro shop.

How much does it cost?

Yearly membership dues are only $20.  Yearly membership in the Northern California Golf Association is optional and is $39.  New or reinstated NCGA memberships are charged an additional $10 by NCGA.  Current LACC golf fees are found here.

Do I need a handicap?

You do not need a handicap to play in the Men's 9-hole club.  But you do need a handicap to play in most tournaments and to play in the popular Lovey Dovey.  Handicaps are generally established through the NCGA.   9-hole club members are encouraged to join NCGA.  Note to "snowbirds".

What if I don't have a cart?

Many members own their own cart.  Members who don't own a golf cart are paired with those who do and pay the $5 trail fee.  If not enough carts are available, a member who shares a cart with his wife is provided a cart under this Pro Shop policy, otherwise a member without a cart will be required to pay for the cart.

Who will I be paired with?

A goal of the 9-hole club is to promote fellowship and allow members to meet and get to know their fellow LACC property owners.  Pairings are done randomly with the goal of mixing players of varying abilities.
